The Caminito del Rey will reopen on the 12 june 2020.
This is the announcement (in Spanish) from the company managing the site. Tickets will be available from Friday the 22nd of May. The online system will allow reservations up to the end of July 2020.
The Caminito will open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with a limit of 550 people per day allowed access.
Remember that we are in “phase 1” of the lockdown and there is a restriction on moving from province to province. So, as I understand this, only people living in the province of Málaga will be able to take advantage of the reopening.
(Please correct me if I am wrong!)
There is no announcement as to what time the online booking system will open on Friday 22nd but if you want to travel to the Caminito del Rey then I would suggest checking early in the morning and keep checking. I would expect that the tickets will sellout very quickly indeed!
Information here on how to book your tickets online.
Local councils are also promoting the use of public transport to arrive so I presume the train and entry combi ticket from Málaga will also be available. Read here for instructions on how to get the combi tickets.
I would apreciate any feedback about the caminito, it’s reopening, the train combi tickets or any other aspect of a visit to the Caminito del Rey.
Unfortunately I live in the province of Cádiz so won’t be able to visit untill restrictions are lifted further.
Caminito del Rey reopen 12 May
I’ve been living in this lovely area of Western Andalucia for the last 20 years or so and dedicate most of my time to the running of English language tourist information websites for the towns of Cádiz, Ronda, Grazalema, the famous or infamous Caminito del Rey, and also Wildside Holidays, which promotes sustainable and eco-friendly businesses running wildlife and walking holidays in Spain.
